Sky Ride

Sky ride is a fantastic opportunity for everyone to take to the road on their bikes.  There are marshalled routes set out  - so no need to be wary if you haven't ridden for a while.  It is designed for cycles of all ages and abilities.  At the end of the ride you will be greeted with a marketplace where you can buy a coffee and a sandwich.... and of course your beautiful Water off a Duck's Back cycle Macintosh or jacket.

Sunday 12th June - Ipswich Sky Ride

Thankfully in Ipswich the rain held off right up until the last moment.  It was a great day - lots of familys were out enjoying a gentle potter. We were situated right by a steel band, which created a great atmosphere.  Looking forward to Birmingham.

Sunday 5th June - Bath Sky Ride

It was a slightly soggy start to the first Sky Ride of the year in Bath.  As it is Water off a Duck's Back's birth place and even though we have spread our wings since December 2010 it was delightful for our first Sky Ride to be on home turf. There was a great feeling on comardradry in the moring, the hardier cyclists who battled through the rain came over to see our wares and shelter from the downpour.   Thankfullly by 11am the rain had stopped and out came the families to cycle along the traffic free roads.  A geat fun day was had by all - and we are looking forward to Ipswich next weekend.

We were all very well looked after by the Alice Park Cafe http://www.alicepark.co.uk/ and would like to thank  them for the truely scrumptios cakes and coffee.

Sunday 9th April 2011 - The Tweed Run, London

We had a fantastic time at The Tweed Run.  500 people all dressed up in tweeds and pretty dressed on a delightful jaunt around our beautiful capital.  The sun was out, the birds were singing and everyone had a wonderful time.  On my ride over to the start I had a great moment when cycling past Buckingham Palace I saw a couple of very excited American tourists quickly rummaging for their cameras to take a shot of my co-tweedies cycling past - I think they thought this is how us Brits always dress - and who are we to deny them? The run was joined by the delctable Ewan MacGregor, although sadly whilst cycling next to him for nearly half an hour i was blissfully unware of this until it was pointed out to me afterwards.  ho hum.

Water off a Duck's Back sponsored the Best Dressed Lady for the 2011 Tweed Run.

The Tweed Run is in it's third year now.  It is a jaunty 10 mile ride through London taking in all the sites.  Why is it called The Tweed Run? for the simple reason that, as they put it, proper attire is expected - so dust down your tweeds, and don your most dapper togs and come and join us.

The London Bike Show January 2011

Water off a Duck's Back was proud to be a part of the first London Bike Show.  It was running alongside The Boat Show and The Outdoor Show.

It was fantastic to meet so many people from the cycling, boating and walking communities.

I would like to thank everyone for their feedback and suggestions for my next collections... the pencil is about to be put to paper....
